The Cárdenas Trio was founded in Munich - Germany, and is roaming Europe and South America since then.

It combines different styles, techniques and emotions to a virtuosity, that provides the listener with both discovery and pleasure.

Cárdenas Trio

Mónica Cárdenas (Piano), Spanish, was born in Lima/Peru.

studied at the National Conservatory in Lima with Prof. E. Ichikawa. It was during this time that she recorded "Anthology Peruvian Music of XX Century". Later she earned a four year post-graduate scholarship at the Tchaikowsky Conservatory in Kiev with Prof. A. Sadieratzkaya and at the Tchaikowsky Conservatory in Moscow with Prof. V. Natanson and Prof. M. Voskresensky. Afterwards she studied chamber music in Munich under the supervision of musicians who form part of the Philharmonic of Munich. Her concerts and recordings, both in Europe and Latin America, have received much praise from critics. Furthermore, the dedications that many present day composers have dedicated works to Monica, are testimony of her artistic talent. She has won competitions and has been developing a career as Soloist and Chamber Music Player with the satisfaction of performing in many countries. In the field of education, she has worked in Germany and Spain. During the academic year 2010-2011, Monica worked as piano and chamber music Professor in the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Jerusalem where she offered chamber music concerts and played in different cities with the Palestine National Orchestra. Currently Monica lives in Germany.
 
Mónica Cárdenas

Elvira Cárdenas (Violine), Spanish, was born in Lima/Peru.

began her violin and theoretical studies in the National Conservatory in Lima.
Afterwards she earned a scholarship to study in France where she studied at the Strasbourg Conservatory of Music with Professor Serge Lamberger. There she won a first prize in violin as Soloist and also in chamber music performance.
During her studies she had the opportunity to perform as Soloist with the Strasbourg Conservatory Chamber Orchestra. Elvira was also played with the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra.
Later she travelled to Munich where she studied with Professors Tibor Jonas and Jorge Sutil.
Within her professional career, her chamber music activity is intense both in Europe and Latin America, as well as she is also professor of violin and participates with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lübeck, Germany.
 
Elvira Cárdenas

Tilmann Stiehler (Violoncello), was born in Munich.

studied at the Music College of Munich with Professor Helmar Stiehler.
Afterwards he completed post-graduate studies with Professor Rudolf Gleissner at the Stuttgart College of Music.
Working together with well-known musicians such as Sergiu Celibidache, Martin Ostertag, Christoph Poppen, Franz Beyer and Eberhard Feltz make up an important part of his professional career.
His work includes diverse chamber music concerts in different groups as well as Solo performances.
Since 2008, Tilmann Stiehler is Director of the Music Institute of Erlangen.
